FEAR IS AMNESIA

Recently I received a session and at the end of it, as I was laying there tuned into my heart space, integrating what had just happened I heard a very clear voice/thought that said, “FEAR IS AMNESIA”. It was so matter of fact and loud that it made me laugh out loud.
It was such a strong force, voice, thought – I am not really sure how to define it, but however we want to frame it – it was strong. It has been with me ever since. I think about this a lot. FEAR IS AMNESIA!
So, what does this mean? I can’t answer it for you, but I can share my experience and thoughts around it. For me in the context of the session and how it has shown up, it is a reminder that if or when I am feeling fear or caught in fear around a decision, what I should be doing next, how am I going to make this happen, will things work out etc., it lets me know that I am simply forgetting to trust in the divine orchestration and the divine blue print of my soul expression. Memory loss, either temporary or permanent. That is the definition of Amnesia. So, for me fear is temporary memory loss of the fact that I know I am well supported. There is a team of guides, angels, luminous ones, my own essential that are all around all the time giving guidance and direction. The trick is finding the ability to remain in a state of beingness that lets me recognize all this support. To stay open to the guidance and trust in it.
When we slip into fear, our energy bodies contract and the flow of spirit diminishes, making it very hard to remain open and to receive. The amygdala fires and puts us into a reactionary state without much conscious thought. It is the fight, flight, freeze response. This is very helpful when we need immediate reaction and action to something that can cause harm, another is in danger, or to react to an incident that needs immediate attention. We don’t want to be standing around thinking about whether we should run from the danger, we just go. Thank you, amygdala.
However, when this gets stuck “on” in a hyperactive mode, then everything can be perceived as danger and we go into the cycles of fight, flight, freeze. Now when this relates to our everyday life, should we, shouldn’t we, what will the future hold, do they like me, should I keep things moving forward in my career, do I need to make a change, and all manner of these kinds of things that show up multiple times a day, every day in some cases, then it is not the amygdala we want involved. We don’t want to be making decisions from fear. Remember fear contracts the energy body and restricts the flow of higher consciousness and spirit. We want to be able to drop into our heart space, connect with our soul, and begin to listen to the guidance all around us. It is always there – we just forget – FEAR IS AMNESIA.
Pay attention to what brings you into a state of fear (not counting more serious events that require a little amygdala immediate response), but the everyday states – what creates a fear response in you? We know that with conscious awareness we can begin to shift and change those subconscious patterns that have become habits. If you take the time to witness your thoughts and state of being and recognize fear as part of the equation, shout out FEAR IS AMNESIA! Do this three times at the top of your lungs no matter where you are. Ok I am kidding, but really stop and remember FEAR IS AMNESIA. See what happens, jog your memory into remembering how supported you are and that you have a super team around you all the time offering guidance and direction. Let us not move into permanent memory loss – permanent amnesia.
Find a practice that helps you to move out of fight or flight and into rest and digest mode. You can do this by taking deep belly breaths which massage the vagus nerve and helps us to move back into the parasympathetic, to relax and recover.
You can connect to nature of course, this is known to relax the system as our energy bodies connect with the frequency and vibration of nature, moving into an exchange of living light energy. This will happen regardless of whether you are aware of it or not.
At night before you drift off to sleep, place one hand on your heart center/chakra and one hand on your low belly (below belly button) sacral chakra, and take a few deep breaths then slip into normal breathing and allow for these two centers to come into balance. You may feel a very light pulse in the palm of your hands and the energy will bounce back and forth, and then eventually it will entrain and come into sync. This also resets the fight or flight.
Obviously, there are so many ways to help us come out of a fear state and into a flow state, find the practice that works for you and do it.
Here’s to all our supporters known and unknown, in form and out of form. May we all be open enough to receive the love that is abundantly coming our way!
